How often should I come to therapy?

What is your sick or weather policy?

Clients are asked to commit to weekly or bi-weekly appointments at the start of therapy. Research shows that consistent counselling is key to long term change. This allows for greater accountability to the process and for change to take root.

If you are sick or weather conditions are poor, sessions are offered online. If you are unable to provide 48 hrs notice but do not wish to miss your session, you may request a virtual or phone session, at your regularly scheduled time. No notice is required to switch to virtual or phone.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?

I require a minimum of 48 hours notice for all cancellation and reschedule requests. This is necessary because a time commitment has been made, and your session time is held exclusively for you. If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time. This policy is clearly stated in my intake paperwork and agreed to before our first therapy session.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer sliding scale?

I have limited space for reduced-fee counselling, and currently, all spots are taken. If you are seeking reduced-fee therapy, please see here and here. If you'd like to be added to my waitlist for reduced-fee therapy, email hello@tay-evans.com.

IS THERAPY COVERED UNDER Extended BENEFITS?

Therapy offered by a Registered Clinical Counsellor is often covered by extended insurance plans. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to confirm your level of coverage.

DO YOU INVOICE MY INSURANCE DIRECTLY?

No, I do not offer direct billing. After each session I will provide an invoice with my registration number (RCC #20368) that you can submit for reimbursement to your insurance company.

I am typically able to respond to messages within 48 hours during standard business hours, Monday - Friday. I am not able to offer the services of a crisis centre. If you are in criss and in need of urgent care, call 911, your local crisis line, or get yourself to a hospital.
